Hazelgap Barn Wedding Photography
Having this hidden gem only 10 minutes from home is fabulous, so when James & Lorna booked with me for their wedding I was delighted, my first opportunity for Hazelgap Barn Wedding Photography, right in the heart of the famous Sherwood Forest here in Nottinghamshire.
My day started early joining the girls at the Joanna Louise salon in Kiveton near Sheffield. The skies were heavy and the wind cold, but the girls were determined to ensure the mood was high, the salon was alive with laughter and all things bridal. I found a seat in the corner and documented the relaxed morning until it was time to head and find the boys.
Upon arriving at James and Lorna’s home the boys were well along with preparations, the whiskey was yet to make an appearance :-) With James organisation skills the guys all knew what needed to be done and who was doing what, it was refreshing to see our groom so prepared and determined to ensure his wedding ran as smoothly as possible. With the suits ready and new shoes for all the guys, the whiskey was flowing to sooth the building nerves. As the chaps attempted to tie their ties in unison, the panoramic mirror made for a great shot, Felicity sat there taking all in and seemed most unimpressed with the guys efforts to look their best.
With the ring of the door bell it was time to pile into the Rolls Royce and head to the ceremony. The rain was holding off and the colour of autumnal forna was lifting the grey, with a gentle walk to the ceremony James and the boys looked relaxed and on point for the big moment ahead. The girls arrived and like true bestiesthey braved the harsh cold wind for a few pictures.
Following the ceremony the entire bridal party again braved the ever cooling wind for more pictures, working quickly we captured the family formal pictures allowing the guests to board the vintage bus to head to Hazelgap. Arriving at the stunning venue we made the most of the light with some more group images and a few fun shots with the bridesmaids.
Once inside the barn I could see why there is such a buzz about this new venue. With the rustic age of the buildings and the tasteful way their conversion has lovingly breathed new life into them is fantastic. The entrance barn with its multitude of candles was a welcome warmth from the bitter cold, and the promise of the incredible looking beaf was even more inviting.
Following a hearty meal and superb hospitality from our bride and groom the wedding breakfast turned into speeches, into cake and then first dance. After a few more photos to try and make the most of the beautiful ambience of Hazelgap Barn the dance floor then came alive thanks to the epic live music from, allowing for some amazing dancing, especially by bestman Joe :-).
My sincere thanks to James and Lorna for allowing me to be part of your day, thanks too for the accommodating staff at Hazelgap Barn, Budby. I hope you love the pictures as much as i loved making them for you.
